The Official Blog of Studio J Photography bio picture

Welcome!

So this is my chance to tell you how totally cool I am, but honestly I'm not sure if I can really sum up myself in two or three paragraphs.  Let's start with the basics.

I love the sound that the shutter makes when I take a photograph, especially when there are really cool people on the other side of the lens.

I deny any conversations that take place before my first cup of coffee.

I love a glass of 18-year-old scotch, almost as much as a glass of chocolate milk.

I love making people love how they look in photos. I love to travel and experience new places.

I love that last bit of milk in the bottom of the cereal bowl.

I love life's simple pleasures.  I love life's not so simple pleasures.

I love sushi.  Lots and lots of sushi.

I love movies, especially ones by Tarantino.

I think TV shows on DVD is one of the 20th century's best inventions.

Anh & Tuan’s Wedding | Memphis Wedding Photographer

Ok, so this post (like several others) has been a long time coming. I’ve been working on images and prepping for my trip to LA tomorrow. I can hardly wait. I am going out to learn from some really incredible photographers. More about that this week.

On to Anh & Tuan. I was so excited when they told me that they would be doing a traditional Vietnamese ceremony in the morning. When they told me they would be following it up with mass at Immaculate Conception and then a beautiful reception at The Cadre, I could barely contain my enthusiasm.

A very special thanks to Darius and to Annabella of Asian Bees for their help on a long and incredible Saturday. You guys rock!

I loved the big bridal party shot so much that I had to include it again. Ok, on to the plethora of images…
