Latanfernee’s Photo Shoot

Ok. So I will be posting photos from Latanfernee’s incredible Sweet 16 Party in a couple of hours, but I wanted to make sure I posted images from her great shoot.

I had an incredible crew to help me including Darius, Lisa, and Bill. We shot at the Peabody, at the Orpheum, at Platinum Jewelers, and at her dad’s house.

All of this, as well as the shoot, was put together by the incredible Southern Event Planners (more on them later).

Enough chatter, on to the piccies…

Alicia - My daughter attended the party and it was like a dream for her. The pictures are great. My favorites from the ones posted are the close ups, especially the black and white one. I can’t wait to see the other pictures. Maybe you captured my daughter on some of the pictures. I am sure she will be so excited.

Allison & Jeff Rodgers’ Session

Ok.  So much for my schedule.  I really hope to get other posts up this weekend.  No promises on the timeframes, but if I am lucky (and productive) there should be lots of posts coming fast.

On to the fabulous Rodgers.  I think it is a HUGE honor to be asked to photograph other photographers, especially ones whose work I love.  Allison & Jeff are amazing to work with as they gave me total creative freedom to do whatever I wanted.

I asked them to bring along a funky chair, and then they reminded me that they had this cool sofa that was absolutely perfect.  Oh, and I have to give credit to Savannah for coming up with the last sofa shot.  I love it.

And one more explanation.  The last series pays tribute to Allison & Jeff’s iphone addiction and the fact that Jeff is a huge fan of Superman.

Enough chatter, on to the pics…

katie - JAKE,
these are amazing of my king & queen bee (my bosses). I absolutely love the superman in the telephone booth. You did a great job of capturing their silly selves. plus, it helps they are such a cute crazy couple!

Sugar Bowl

A few weeks ago, Savannah and I headed out to shoot images for the incredible folks at Sugar Bowl Cupcakes

We planned out a series of shots to show off their yummy, delicious cupcakes.   They have loads of flavors and they make them with a personal touch.

They have a really fun attitude, and it shows through in everything they do.

Enough talk, on to the pics…

Cindy - OK…I just had to comment. I can’t decide which is my favorite: the lifeguard with the duck, the cupcake that got “caught” or two workmen eating a cupcake. All great ideas, Jake! Love your lighting. Looking forward to the upcoming workshop!

Latasha’s Bridal Session

Ok.  I am catching up on my blogging now.  Go me.

Last Sunday, Melissa and I headed out with Latasha & her sister.  They were both real troopers the whole evening.

I have to give a GIGANTIC shout out to Latasha for being so trusting with all of my craziness.  She hiked up a huge mound to get the sunset shots and let me put her in other crazy situations.

Alright, enough chatter.  On to the piccies…

Trinket - I LOVE the second pic of her “holding up” the pillars. Absolutely beautiful!! You do wonders with light Mr. J 🙂

Tony Eder - I love the lighting in the last 4 photos in the post. It reminds me a lot of the work by Zack Arias in Atlanta. Look forward to meeting you in September at the zoo wedding for Sarah and Dan (I’m the best man and brother-in-law).

Liz & Josh’s Wedding

Ok.  So I am really far behind on blogging, but I’m catching up.

Last weekend, Lisa and I loaded up the car and headed out into the country for Liz & Josh’s wedding.  They wanted to get married near family.  After a really beautiful ceremony, everyone packed up and headed back to the Memphis Zoo

The whole set up was designed by Southern Event Planners and the incredible food was made the always fabulous Cindy Krag of Cindy Krag Catering.

Ok, enough talk from me.  On the photos…
