Streets of Nashville, part one

So after a long day of travel to Hartford, CT.  I can’t sleep and had to post something that was just a great experience for me this week.  When I went up to Nashville on Tuesday, I started thinkng about some of my favorite types of photography.

I love street photography.  I’ve always been inspired by others’ images, but I have never gone out to the streets to actually shoot.  So what did I do on Tuesday afternoon?  You guessed it.  I met some truly amazing people when I was out there and was blessed to get to know them.

Ok.  On to the photos…

Megan & Nathan’s Wedding

Some of you may remember the images from Megan & Nathan’s incredible engagement session.  Well, their wedding was even more amazing.

They got married at Grace Evangelical, which like many newer churches in the area lack the “pretty pretty” of some older churches, so I improvised.  I saw a photo recently with a background like the one you’ll see in it and I thought “Gee willikers, that would be great for when I need something pretty.”  (Ok, so I didn’t actually think the words “Gee willikers”, but it’s fun to say so just humor me.)

Anyways, later we ran outside for a few minutes to get shots of the lovely couple.  We found some nice shade and got some killer shots.  They were both really working it for the camera.  Then, they obliged me again on the way in to the reception.

Thanks you two for giving me the freedom to try some new stuff with you, I hope you will love the images as much as I do.  I need to give a very special thanks to Savannah & Darius for all of their help.  I couldn’t do what I do without my crew.

There were lots of shots that I adored, but these were the some of the ones I absolutely loved.  Enough chatter, on to the pics…

Melissa - Jake – you’ve outdone yourself with this one. The black and white b.g. is FABULOUS! I’m just bitter I couldn’t help out. Seriously beautiful stuff.

Sabrina & Dave’s Wedding

Wow.  So I am posting this just before midnight.  I promise to be a better blogger this week.

Sabrina & Dave were so great.  They were totally into each other.  Lisa & I had a lot of fun watching them interact.

Sabrina had an absolutely gorgeous dress.  I love the shot where her dress flared out.

The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the reception was at The Memphis Botanic Garden.

Have a great time on the honeymoon you two.  Ok, enough talk.  On to the photos…

Thanks for posting

Sarah & Brett’s Wedding

Wow.  I have been such a horrible blogger this week.  I have been planning to get this post up since Tuesday.

Saturday afternoon as Savannah and I headed into the salon, the clouds were rolling in and the rain started pouring.  I told Sarah that knowing Memphis, the weather would move on and things would be just fine.  Sure enough, the weather moved through and things were great for the wedding.

Angela & Kelly from Southern Event Planners got everything set up beautifully.  The weather cooled off and we had a great time.  The ceremony and reception were held at the Memphis Zoo and the details were immaculate.  Sarah (with Brett’s help) put together all of the paper details.

A special thanks to Savannah and Lisa for all their help.

Enough talk, on to the photos…

Throw Back Thursday

Ok.  So I’m going to start showing a bit of my age and time period with these posts, but who cares if you know that I’m 32?

Back in the days of high school came a song that was honestly the first time I truly played the cassette until it wore out.  Yes, I actually said cassette (at least it’s not 8 track), and for the younger crowd that’s what we used to use before cds and ipods came along.

Sadly, I have to check the calendar for my mom’s birthday, but I can sing every line to this classic 90’s song.  Enjoy.
