I went home to visit my friends and family in Louisiana over the week of Easter. While I was there, I had the opportunity to photograph my best friend Paul’s kids, Trey and Faith.

Even though I saw them at Christmas, it was hard to believe how much they had changed. I photographed them for the first time during the previous Christmas vacation.

I don’t normally photograph children, but gladly do it for Paul and his wife Jennifer because they give me the freedom to shoot the kids naturally. Jennifer came along on the session, but she was just there to help them feel comfortable. We weren’t posing the kids, and I love that their real personalities came through in the photos.

Trey is incredibly bright, but also kind of shy. He loves to pick things up and play with them. Faith has a knack for knowing when the camera is on her. She absolutely knows how to turn on the extra cuteness when she wants.

Enjoy the photos…

Ok. So I don’t shoot a lot of kids and families, but when I was in Louisiana last month I just couldn’t resist.

Some of you might remember the shoot I did for my best friend Paul and his family at Christmas. Well, Brian and Paul have been my best friends since high school. I wished I could have been there to do some maternity shots for Sarah and Brian, but I was right in the middle of wedding season when everything was going on.

Anyway, I’ve been waiting to show these shots for a while. So here’s my chance.
