I will be out of the office all week due to the passing of my grandfather on my dad's side. I won't have access to the internet, and in most of the area where my family lives my cell phone won't work. His passing was not unexpected as he was quite old and had been in poor health. Fortunately, my dad got a chance to visit him just a couple of hours before he passed on. I will be back in town and available next Monday the 24th. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Jake

Ok. So part of why I haven't been posting so much is that I was planning and preparing for my Open House last week. I invited a lot of wedding vendors to an early time and then invited a bunch of fellow photographers and friends for a later time. I really wanted to show off the Photo Booth. We are doing it at Robyn & Keith's wedding next weekend, and I am so excited. It's pretty crazy about what happens when you get a group of photographers in front of a camera. And yes, I let Lisa take the initial photos you see with me and my wine. So I am using this as an opportunity to announce that the Photo Booth is officially available for wedding clients. The cost is $750 and will include a second photographer on the day. Ok. Enough chatter, on to the photos...
Ok. So I have gotten woefully behind on blogging, but I have had a LOT on my mind. Also, I've been catching up on albums and reprint orders and getting ready for this weekend's bridal show. Enough excuse making, on to the update. One of the major things that is changing for next year is the overall experience for clients. The new space is a part of the overall experience, but it's just the beginning. I want my clients to have a truly cool variety of options to help make the entire wedding experience an amazing one. First, the initial consultation is designed to allow you to ask any questions and look at all of the albums and such. Second, the pre-wedding consultation is set up to help plan out the day and to go over the setups for the day. Third, the private viewing session. After the wedding, a few images will be posted
Ok. So I feel like such the bad blogger, but things have been really hopping around here. But I promise to get better over the next few days and get all of these really great things announced and post from a couple of shoots I did for friends. I will forever be grateful to the wonderful people at Starbucks who allowed me to drag my albums and my laptop into shops all over Memphis to meet people. But those days are ending, and I am so happy. The new space is in mid-town and is easily accessible from almost every direction. I have the privilege of sharing it with my wonderful friends Bill Bell of Bell Photo Art and Lisa Thomas of Kira Lisa Photography . We're still putting the finishing touches to the space, but I am in love. You can see the really cool wall canvases (another announcement coming soon). You can probably tell
Wow. So I'm a week later getting this posted, but I think it was totally worth the wait. Let me tell you about why the blog changed. I loved the old blog. I designed it and it was very dear to me, but it was missing a few things that I really wanted to have and just couldn't do before. First of all, I can make posts faster and more often. I'm not going to get all crazy and try to blog every day, but I am hoping to start posting two or three times a week. And that means more updates and more pictures and lots more craziness. Second, in the little navigation area that links to my site and my email is a little RSS feed button that will allow you to subscribe to the blog so you will always be in the know about when things are posted. How cool
