The Official Blog of Studio J Photography bio picture

Welcome!

So this is my chance to tell you how totally cool I am, but honestly I'm not sure if I can really sum up myself in two or three paragraphs.  Let's start with the basics.

I love the sound that the shutter makes when I take a photograph, especially when there are really cool people on the other side of the lens.

I deny any conversations that take place before my first cup of coffee.

I love a glass of 18-year-old scotch, almost as much as a glass of chocolate milk.

I love making people love how they look in photos. I love to travel and experience new places.

I love that last bit of milk in the bottom of the cereal bowl.

I love life's simple pleasures.  I love life's not so simple pleasures.

I love sushi.  Lots and lots of sushi.

I love movies, especially ones by Tarantino.

I think TV shows on DVD is one of the 20th century's best inventions.

Laura & Chris’s Wedding

Ok.  So I was way long in getting this post up, but I wanted to make sure I did it right.
See, I’ve played Spades and spent New Year’s Eve with Laura & Chris.  I met them at Teresa & Chris’s wedding last year, and she told me then that she was going to hire me.  I...

Kim & Buck’s Wedding

Ok.  So I’m really working to get caught up on all of the production that got piled up while I was away, which is why I am behind on blogging.  Ok, enough of that…on to the couple.
Angela from Southern Event Planners called me up several months ago and told me she had a really fun bride getting...

Ok.  So Friday was the big day.  We met up early in the afternoon to go over to one of the amazing historical areas in Bordeaux.  We had to celebrate the fact that we were in wine country with a couple of shots.
Later, everyone packed into the vans to head to one of the most...

France Day Three – Wedding Dinner

Thursday night, we headed across the river to have dinner at a really great pub style restaurant.  The food was phenomenal, the beer was amazing (I may do a drink catalog later), and the company was some of the best I’ve every enjoyed.
Over the course of the weekend, I began to understand why Renee and...

France Day Three – My Stuff

Ok.  So I’m about to post the images from the dinner we all shared on Thursday night, but I have to show you a few images I took for me once we got to Bordeaux.  Bordeaux is a gorgeous city that combines old world architecture with new world style for a truly fun experience.
I saw all...

Paris Day Two

Ok.  So I’m still up really late because I have so much that I am processing mentally and photographically.  Tomorrow, Darius and I board the train to Bordeaux.
I’ll make the chatter brief.  Here’s a quick recap.  Today, I saw the Louvre, Notre Dame, Pompidou, and a lot of side streets and random places.
And now on...

Paris Day One

Ok.  I really intended to blog this before I went to bed last night, but let’s just say it was a full day.
Let me start by saying that it only took one day for me to thoroughly fall in love with Paris.  Everything is so amazing.  I’ll report more on this later, but I’m stoked for...
