Ok. So I had been thinking about doing a shot in this style for months, ever since one of my favorite photographers from Vegas described the process to me. But like many things, I don’t like to do them for the sake of just doing them. I like to wait for the right opportunity.
Well, the opportunity finally presented itself. At Michelle & Denny’s wedding, I decided to do a multi shot image. I used the flash to light up individual parts of the scene and then combined them all in Photoshop.
Just a quick breakdown, there were 44 layers in the beginning. In the end, about 30 of them got used for the final image.
Here it is…

A little over a week ago, my good friend Sara Beth and I headed down to Central Station for Michelle & Denny’s fabulous wedding. We had a great time all day. The bridal party were real troopers to brave the heat for a couple of shots outside. I do have one uber cool shot that I will post in a few days.
After we all cooled down and took some more photos, it was time for their really sweet ceremony. And then the party got really going. Sara Beth and I both admitted feeling like we were in a scene from “She’s All That”. A song would come on and the crowd would break into choreographed dances, and we’re not talking about the Electric Slide. It was pretty incredible to watch. And then we all gathered outside to see them off.
Ok, on to the pics…

I’ve met a number of people who have asked me if I shoot a lot of weddings at Graceland. I always laugh a little and tell them that I haven’t had the chance yet, but I would love to do it. Well now I can’t say that anymore.
Lynda and Steve contacted me from Down Under to tell me that they would be flying in to Memphis for their wedding and wanted something really fun and different. Lynda has a wedding photography studio in Australia, and I always consider it an honor to be asked to capture other photographers’ most important days.
Darius joined me for the day. They rented a couple of kick ass suites at Heartbreak Hotel and we started there. We had a lot of fun as we headed to Sun Studio, where we ran into a really cool Elvis impersonator, and then headed around downtown. Finally, we went back to Graceland for the ceremony and a really fun tour.
Later that evening, we all gathered at Circa for dinner before taking them to a real Memphis institution, Silky’s. Congrats you two, I know you’ve seen these but I thought it was time the rest of the world see them too…

Last week, I met Caitlin & Jason downtown at Autozone Park. Jason and Caitlin met there, so what better place to start?
Then we played around downtown before heading to Cafe Ole, where they went for their first date. We got there early and they let us shoot around for a while.

A little over a week ago, Darius and I headed to The Pink Palace for Sarah & Brad’s wedding. The weather was kinda warm, but they were real troopers and went outside for some shots before the ceremony. Everyone packed in to see their very sweet and emotional ceremony.
After a little break, they entered for some dancing and cake cutting before the festivities began. Once things cooled down outside, we went outside to grab a few shots. Then we went back in for some more dancing. Finally, they headed home and we followed them to get them crossing the threshold.
Ok, on to the photos…

A couple of weeks ago, Lisa and I headed over to Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church for LeKecia & Leonard’s wedding. The whole day ran so smoothly. They had a beautiful time together, with a really fun and surprising moment.
After a wonderful ceremony, we all went around for a few photos before the reception. Then we headed over to Minglewood Hall, where everything looked wonderful. They were great sports to sneak out for a couple more photos towards the end.
Ok, enough chatter. On to the photos…
